Ontrack.
I haven’t posted in a while and part of the reason for that is because I was studying a lot for the university enabling program - Ontrack. In it, we were taught how to write essays, critical thinking, how to research (library, internet and databases), how to use various computer programs (I found Powerpoint particularly useful) and we also did some literacy and numeracy classes. At the finish of the 12 week course, there were 17 students in our class. I received a Certificate of Completion which I am thrilled about because I have a record of not finishing things.
I didn’t think I would enjoy it as much as I did. I did get stressed out at times due to the homework and especially the essays, but other experiences and people completely made up for that. Especially my tutor, Penny. Never through high school did I have a teacher who encouraged and believed in me like Penny did.
I received Distinctions and High Distinctions for the exams, essays and presentations that I did. It has started me thinking, “Maybe I can do this university thing after all.” I am not completely sure if I am/will be accepted yet. I am supposed to find out within a month and also get a package in the mail. I don’t like the waiting!
I wish to study Psychology so I can go into research. I would like to research aspects of autism and find out something new. Maybe I will and maybe I won’t but I will try anyway.
