Starting a new group for auties
GA has made a start to the new group for young adults with HFA/ Asperger’s in Perth and metro area. We know a mum through the Learning and Attentional Disorders Society, where I currently do volunteer work, that has a son with HFA. We made the trip to her house to meet her son and GA played Nintendo games with him for ages!
We got talking about starting a group so that autistic people can meet others and make friends and share interests. One thing I had to make very clear was that people should come only if they want to. Not be pushed into it by someone else.
We are at the very early stages. There are no such groups like this in WA, which is sad. I want to make a difference even though I’m very new at this.
